INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING ELECTRIC VEHICLE BATTERY

1. APPEARANCE INSPECTION:

  • Check for cracks, dry or wet battery surface. Wet battery surface need to check the battery electrolyte level.
  • Check wiring and connectors. Make sure the connector is tight and the wire size is appropriate.
  • Check the cap, tighten the battery plug, clean and check the electrolyte level regularly.

2. Additional watering:

  • Periodically add water to the battery (depending on how long the battery is used every day), the additional watering schedule depends on the intensity of work and the working environment temperature. For new batteries, the electrolyte level must be checked every day for additional watering schedules. The longer the battery is used, the more frequent it is to refill.

Note:

    • Always keep the battery electrolyte level about 5mm above the terminal plate and 5mm below the bottom of the water filling hole.
    • Batteries should always be checked for refilling with distilled water or ion-exchange column water until the electrolyte level is about 5 mm from the bottom of the filling hole.
    • The battery must be fully charged before refilling with water. The electrolyte level after adding the supplement reaches the bottom of the battery cover. In case the electrolyte level in the battery falls below the terminal plate, add water to cover the plate before charging and then add additional water.

3. BATTERY CHARGING:

  • Proper battery charging will prolong battery life. More or less charging will reduce battery life.
  • It is recommended to charge the battery for about 10 ÷ 12 hours with a current equal to 1/10 of the battery capacity index.
  • The battery should be fully charged after use. There is no need to use up all the power in the battery to recharge.
  • Check electrolyte level and vent plug before charging.
  • When there are signs of bubbles appearing in the battery, this time continue to charge for about 1 ÷ 2 hours and then disconnect the charge.

Note:

    • The battery must be charged in a cool place
    • Avoid charging the battery in a place where the temperature is above 49oC.

4. BATTERY STORAGE:

  • In case the battery is not used for a while. Batteries need to be stored under the following conditions to avoid shortening their lifespan:
  • Batteries must be cleaned and fully charged before storing
  • Batteries must be stored in a cool, dry place.
  • Disconnect the wire from the battery to prevent self-discharge.
