INSTRUCTIONS
FOR USING DRY CHARGED BATTERY
A. Storing:
-
Keep battery at dry and
cool place.
-
Do not remove aluminum
foil seals on cover nor fill electrolyte.
B. Using:
- Remove aluminum foil from cover.
- Fill each cell of the battery
with diluted sulfuric acid 1.25 sp.gr. (at 20OC) up to the Upper level
(Max).
- Refill battery with the same electrolyte if it drops below Lower level
(Min) line.
- Screw the vent plugs. Clean and
dry the battery. Now, the battery is ready to use.
- For better use, the battery should be charged current as follows:
*Initial fast charge in 20 minutes with charge current as:
I = 20 Ampere for battery used for car.
I = 40 Ampere for battery used for
truck or lorry.
* Normal charge in 3-4 hours with charge current as:
I = 3-5 Ampere for battery used
for car.
I = 8-12 Ampere for battery used for truck or lorry.
Keep temperature of electrolyte during charging not higher than 55OC.
C.
Recharging:
Battery should be charged in the cases:
1- The electrolyte gravity drops below 1.2 sp. gr. (at
20OC) after filling electrolyte 20 minutes.
2- Battery is not used for a long time after
filling electrolyte: recharge battery at least once a month.
Charge condition:
- Unscrew the vent plus.
- Use a rectified DC current. Connect the
battery (+,-) terminals respectively to (+,-) poles of DC source.
- Charge current is about 1/10 of battery
capacity.
For example: N50 battery
with capacity of 50Ah is charged at 5 Ampere current.
- When the electrolyte in cells bubbles up,
reduce charge current to haft and continue the charging.
- The charge is finished when the battery
voltage and electrolyte gravity are no longer changed for 2 hours.
D. Maintenance:
- If vehicle runs continuously through a long distance,
or battery has to operate under high temperature condition, it is necessary
to check electrolyte level.
Always keep the electrolyte level between
Upper and Lower level, if it’s lower, refill pure water to restore to “Upper
level”. Only refill with pure water, do not use acid solution.
- If level of electrolyte drops irregularly (too quick),
electric system and dynamo of vehicle should be checked.
E.
Safety in using:
- If electrolyte contacts with skin, flush immediately with water.
- If electrolyte contacts with eye,
flush with continuous stream of water and call physician immediately.
- During charging, battery produces
explosive gases. Do not charge battery near fire or sparks.
- Keep out of the reach of children. |
